Every other month Slow Food Reads will gather for just that – the meeting of culinary-inspired minds for discussion of food-centric books while we feast from its pages. Please check the Calendar for information about upcoming Slow Reads. We hope to see you there! These events bring small groups of our membership together to enjoy the pleasure of each others company in the intimacy of our homes, and to share in the preparation and joys of the table! Each Convivium a Casa will be put on the master calendar and members are to respond to the host. You decide on how many people you would like to invite, probably a small group allowing for a comfortable evening of conversation and fun...perhaps 6 to 10 people. You, as host, will decided upon the menu and plans for the evening. You may wish to enlist the help of those who will be attending your affair. Each evening will be completely subsidized by the attendees and the host. You decide how to share the costs, a potluck or percentage of shared total expenses. Please determine the costs in advance to allow members to know how much the event will cost. Guests are expected to share in the full costs of the event, there are no additional fees for the host. ![]() The Options are Endless… Your event could be any time of the day…. and might be combined with an event all would enjoy or a seasonal activity! suggesting side dishes and wines or beer to compliment. a wine or beer to celebrate, with each guest bringing a beverage for the theme. Wines can be placed in paper bags for blind tastings, with each guest bringing a dish to compliment the beverage. The host provides an informative discussion of the beverage. You may provide the meal with the costs shared by the guests, or invite guests to cook with you. You may want to share your recipes, too! share in their expertise on food….a demonstration class, or a hands-on experience. Then back to your home to cook together…featuring possibly a special Colorado meat entrée! a favorite book, sharing the preparations and discussion of the book during the evening. both savory and sweet, explore the lore of the tamale! food in the starring role...Recreate the menu and passion! to enjoy the bounty of your efforts….cook together… possibly barbeque with a view of the garden?
